I believe this is the second time I've had Agrimley get killed on the world map, despite knowing where all non-random dungeons are and moving quickly around, before I went to find him(around L20, after doing the Tier 2 dungeons, because, really, what are the odds that you've finished a potion before that?).
I think both times it wasn't a big deal(two classes that don't really need the Class points potion. In this case, a Bulwark. I was already questioning if I needed it at all.), but it's still kinda pointless to have them die quite so fast.
If the purpose is to prevent grinding, boosting their durability by 50%/100% should still do that while allowing them to still die eventually in some circumstances.
...to be honest, though, he needs to never appear in the icecap areas for that to actually work. There's no significant amount of Adventurers there. Whereas, if he appears in the niche by the desert, or up near Daikara, he can get beaten up pretty badly. It's sort of unstable at actually preventing grinding. (Also, grinding levels adventurers is very lethal potentially.)
It's less of a problem for the Novice Mage, who is more meaningful to talk to early(since he gets you access to a town), but still kinda silly.
