Remove teleport restriction from sher'tul fortress

#1 Post by belmarduk »

Teleport restriction inside sher'tul fortress made the farportal unlock randboss unbeatable for my necromancer. Without an escape, it's unfair for caster characters to have to deal with whatever comes out, esp. if it's a fast or dangerous enemy in it's own right.

Support, except make locked areas impossible to teleport into. The no-teleport restriction was put into place to prevent players from teleporting into forbidden rooms.

Never been a fan of this either---sometimes I've scraped by using a Movement infusion instead but more often than not it just ends in a death via Weirdling for classes that lack Rush and long Range spells otherwise all gets shut down by Bone Armor.

I don't mind the lack of teleport for the weirdling fight, but the farportal guardian can be a real killer without escape mechanisms because of that long hallway. It's particularly unfair to newer players.

yeah, the wierdling is mostly just a gear check, but the randbosses can be absolutely brutal without some sort of mobility.

On a similar vein I'd like to see the teleport restrictions lifted foom Doomed Shadows, as they move the majority of the time by use of phase door, they very quickly end up trapped outside of vaults and unable to function inside which can be crippling to players with a lot of points sunk into the shadows tree. This is very noticeable in the ID where there are a lot of vaults (yes, I know, vaults are optional, but they don't effectively shut down major trees from other classes)

Really, it seems like the best solution here is to always lift teleport restrictions when opening a previously-sealed area, be it a locked region like the farportal room or a standard vault. The only reason for the teleport block in the first place is to avoid bypassing the unsealing; once the seal is broken, it serves no further purpose.

I agree with FunnyMan. The only trouble would be that, in vaults, you can't just lift the ban for the entire vault when you unseal it; you need to do it for each room within the vault. Might be a bit trickier than it seems.
