Allow previews when spending points on a talent

#1 Post by Velorien »

A simple feature request: it would be great if the talent tooltips at the level-up screen showed you the talent's entire progression, not just the effect of putting one more point in. You can't always predict how a talent will scale with points since many are non-linear, and this would greatly help in planning builds, especially if you haven't used a given talent before and don't know if it'll be worth sinking lots of points into.

This would be misleading as most talents improve with stats as well. There has to be a certain amount of trial and error to talent investment. Which is why I like the Arena mode so much - it lets you trial things pretty quickly and easily.

Just revealing the scaling ratio would probably fix that, wouldn't it? I wouldn't mind an "advanced" button or something that you could click and make the tooltips pretty much straight up explicit about what the formulas they're using are. Possibly have another button or roll into the advanced mode something that gives representative numbers at <appropriate stat> 60 (or 100, or both), as a baseline for higher levels.

There's nothing really stopping you from checking it now, but it's kinda' annoying to code dive for stuff like that, y'know?
