So, I found a shadow magic mastery amulet. At 5 points in shadowstep, this led to some interesting behaviour. Not necessarily overpowered, but I thought I should point it out:
The maximum range of shadowstep is increased to 12. With a higher mastery amulet, you could probably get up to 15 or something.
Shadowstep dazes for 9 turns, with no save (immunities still apply, of course). This let me keep the wierdling beast in perma-daze until my stamina ran out - shadowstep, wait 8 turns, repeat. If I had somehow gotten around 3 stamina regen (quite feasible with 5 points in quick recovery), I could have kept it up forever. Or you know, until he was dead. As it was, I managed to get him down to about 30% life with only a .6 stamina regen.
