Confusion change

#1 Post by lukep »

Instead of failing to do anything during confusion, could attempted talent use instead use a random activated talent on a valid target? This would make it less of a "prevent anything from happening" debuff, and more of a "chaotic actions" one.
Some of my tools for helping make talents:

This sounds like a great way to result in players killing themselves horribly.

Thus it should be implemented!

Prevent self-targeting and it could be a cool effect. Could even fire things randomly at walls and such. Would make confusion against enemies much more fun.

A lot of my recent deaths (I think my last 3 in a row qualify) were caused by confusion. It's a bitch. Really. You get confused, and then you try desperately to make a talent work -- healing, regeneration, providence, anything. You press the key several times, and it does nothing, and you die. (Yes, I know you can use instantaneous talents while confused, but what if those are all used up already? What if you are confused and poisoned, and the wild infusion chooses to remove the poison instead of the confusion? Death. That's what.)

So if there is to be a change to confusion, I hope it's one that decreases its deadliness, not increases.

Well this would make it less deadly, since there's more of a chance of offensive protection.

Perhaps confusion should have a chance of breaking when taking damage, kinda like a half-daze effect.
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).
