Could we have a price shown on the Transmogrification confirmation screen?
Probably not terribly useful to most but my Alchemist finds it rather annoying not to know whether extracting a gem is a better option without carting stuff off to the shops.

Re: Transmogrification Price Offer
Oh, is that all people mean when they mention transmogrifying items? Gem extraction? I thought maybe there was some other spell or skill by that name... There's also a chest that turns things to gold right?
Maybe I should ask this in spoilers instead but it's not gamechanging to know, right?

Re: Transmogrification Price Offer
Transmogrifying = Using the Chest to turn an item to gold and send energy to your Fortress.
Gem Extraction = A special Alchemist ability that can turn a metal item into a gem of the same tier.
So he wants the Chest to show you in advance how much gold you could get from transmogrifying a particular item, so he can decide whether it would be more worth it to simply use Gem Extraction to turn the item into a gem instead (which could sell for more, or be converted to Alchemist gems to use for bombs).

Thank you for clarifying
Oh, and I haven't got this chest yet but I already agree with Tim's suggestion
Useful, accessible, contextual information with which to make informed player decisions is always a good thing... (up to the point of cluttering the interface or bombarding the player, at which point that should default to Off with an easy dialog option to turn it On for those who want it).

Re: Transmogrification Price Offer
The gems can also be transmogrified for their shop-sell value. So for example, a green-ego steel waraxe can be sold/transmogrified for, say, 2.50 gold... but Extract Gems will produce a tier-2 gem which will always transmog for 8.00 gold.TheRani wrote:so he can decide whether it would be more worth it to simply use Gem Extraction to turn the item into a gem instead (which could sell for more, or be converted to Alchemist gems to use for bombs).
Re: Transmogrification Price Offer
In my experience, unless you're dealing with something purple, extracting a gem will almost always get you more money, with one exception: Blue tier 1 stuff is sometimes worth more than the gem, but not by enough to really matter.
Beyond tier 1, gem prices scale much faster than even the best equipment.
This lets Alchemists get more money than anyone else, but, on the other hand, they have to equip their golem... and at least some of those gems have to be sacrificed to power your bombs.
