Hotkey Modifier

#1 Post by Nori »

Currently we have 36(I believe) hotkeys. The 12 shown on screen and two modifiers (shift/ctrl). I think it would be great if when I pressed a modifier if the on screen display switched to what those keys are mapped to.
For instance if I had Slash for 1 and Gloom for 13, by default slash would be on screen. But if I pressed (and held) ctrl, then gloom would be displayed. Once I released ctrl it would go back to slash.

Not sure if this has been suggested or not (or how hard it would be to code), but I think it would be useful (especially for some classes) for when you have a lot of activated skills and some of those are not used often so the hotkey is easy to forget.

+1, this would make memorization much less necessary.

+1 and also we need more modifiers. Chronomancers etc with a lot of talents fill all the hotkeys now. I'd suggest adding alt at least

Yeah a extra 12 modifiers would be really nice. Though even more could be added if you started combining, such as ctrl+shift+1. I believe NWN did that.

well, its not really 12 with 2 modifiers... it's 36 different keys. which makes it kinda hard to program as you can map them wherever you want.

though modifiers makes sense, and it could be changed to be that...
