rogue guild questline

#1 Post by Goblinz »

the rogues currently could use a new way to get traps. currently there are a grand total of 1 trap that can be found. Also from the looks of things the poison tree could use a way to get new poisons too. so an ideal place to learn a few is a rogue guild. While chatting with Therani he advocated a throwing knife tree. I was also reminded about the brotherhood quest wich has the interesting concept of different inner factions competing with each other. So this is the idea that formed in my head:
1) there’s a rogues guild that you can enter. you should be forced to do some quest and that will unlock a knife throwing tree
2) then you are made aware of 3 (maybe 4) sub factions in the guild. all the factions think little of the current leader and all want to kill him each faction specializes and can teach/train you in the following field (traps, poisons, knifes and maybe stealth)
3) you go through a series of quest each time backed by a faction (like the brotherhood you can mix and mash rewards but you can miss out on the big end reward) possible quest are: find the leader. attempt to kill leader but you find its a decoy and finally kill the leader.

so what do people think? ideas are welcome as always
Those who complain are just Volunteering to fix the problem

I like the general idea, just wondering how to make a throwing knife tree... i mean, i'd never want to throw my violet flaming dagger of ruin to enemies and remain disarmed... maybe some kind of throwing knives which are considered stacking ammunitions like arrows? By the way, quests related to the class the player choose are welcome, and could encourage people to (re)play all the classes to go trough the different quests they find instead of the same main quests.

I am actually working on a throwing knife tree for the Charlatan class. That one though is based on the idea that the character simply makes and keeps a large number on his person which are not counted as normal equipment.
