I think dropping all artifacts with an unformed curse might be slightly too powerful. How about instead a way to instill some of your dark energies into an artifact, cursing it? Either a special ability of a talent or some cursed specific quest, the ability to place an unformed curse onto a piece of your equipment (or only artifacts, but that's kind of specific too).
