Ghosts

#1 Post by Grey »

I think some ghosts would be a nice haunting touch to undead dungeons. Important features:

- invisible
- pass through walls
- very very low HP
- can be hard to hit, but zero armour
- high (around 30%) magic damage resistance and saving throws
- attacks from ghosts slow the player and drain stamina/mana/equilibrium/etc

Essentially they're more a nuisance than a threat - very dangerous when they suddenly pop through the wall whilst you're fighting something nasty. Higher ghost types would have much stronger stamina draining.

And I already hate seeing a dread/dreadmaster/banshee popup while fighting some nasties... :)
[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD

Heh, well I was thinking of ghosts as more low-level than those. And the invisibility would make them extra scary ;)

Give them some special abilities that have no effect.

e.g. one ability that does nothing except display the message: "You feel a shiver run down your spine."

They can have real attacks too, but this could increase the atmosphere, and also lessen their threat.
