make strange effects given by demon statues last long enough to matter

A demon statue just turned all my character's damage into darkness... for like ten turns, with no enemies around to test it on. Of COURSE I don't touch those crazy statues when there are enemies nearby. That'd be dangerous! I think that all positive effects applied by the statues should last for like 80 turns or something - not so long that you could easily exploit them in crazy ways, but long enough that you could easily carry them into your next few battles. That'd be fun!

I think both the positive and negative effects should be amped heavily. Imagine getting a magical disease from it that just lasts like 50 turns with high damage... if you don't have a cleanse, you're just dead. But if you're prepared, you can risk it.
