Or at least become immune to player generated retch. Maybe just immune to player originating damage entirely? Know there's at least one addon (faeries) that does something similar, and it certainly makes working with minions effectively substantially less of a nuisance.
It would be really rather nice if ghoul wardens could use their racial without murdering their own minions -- don't think the combo particularly needs to be penalized, ehehe. Was actually kinda' surprised when I noticed the hounds were damaged by it, t'be frank... hadn't gotten around to playing a ghoul TW since the rework, and didn't expect the interaction would be a problem. But it is, and that's kinda' unfortunate for the poor ghouls.
Suggestion: Undead hounds for ghoul temporal wardens?

As someone playing a ghoul TW with hounds right now, that would definitely be appreciated.
Same applies to the solipsist thoughtforms, which really ought to share your race.

Do you think this should only apply to ghouls, or should temporal hounds just become immune to retch? As you can also can find items that turn you into an undead and give you the retch ability..
Re: Suggestion: Undead hounds for ghoul temporal wardens?
i dont really like the temporal hound idea in the first place, it sounds out of place
that said, the change suggested by OP sounds unnecessary, and if that gets done they might wanna also give racial abilities(if any) to thought-forms, shadows, and maybe even wild-summons from summoners too, and that just sounds silly

Maybe Retch could be tweaked to not harm minions?
My feedback meter decays into coding. Give me feedback and I make mods.
Re: Suggestion: Undead hounds for ghoul temporal wardens?
That'd be an easy fix for it, too, sure.* Mostly just don't want to see ghouls specifically penalized for having non-undead summons (extending it to thought-forms, too, would be fine~), but something more generalized that, say, a summoner with one of those retch lights could benefit from would be just about as a'ight. Would also mean ghouls would be less troubled using the eggsac, thinking on it, which I'd totally be down for.
And yes, racials for everything does sound kinda' silly (though it'd make a fair bit of sense for thought-forms). Which is why I didn't suggest it
Just don't want to see ghouls soft-locked out of either class talents or one of their best racials just cause retch murders the minions... which is only a problem for solipsists and TWs (and alchies, I guess), since they're already hard locked out of the wilder classes and all the other (class based, anyway) minions are already undead.
*E: Maybe even a better one, since it'd still give necromancer/doomed ghouls that extra bit of synergy, while not penalizing the rest of them.

That's a good and simple tweak. Retch is not abundant on items -only on artifact lights and a helm, I think. Possibly some other rare items that I haven't seen.Maybe Retch could be tweaked to not harm minions?
Re: Suggestion: Undead hounds for ghoul temporal wardens?
It's on corpselight greater egos, which is probably why you see it on randart lights, heh. It is pretty rare, though -- they're tied with a handful of other greater egos for highest rarity (30) among light egos. Still, you'll usually see at least one or two per run, particularly if you're keeping an eye on the shops, from what I've noticed. They're not as rare as some things, just not even remotely common.
