One of the cool things about playing a Necromancer is the Lichdom quest. On the one hand, yes it is a good mid level power boost that radically changes the way the game is played. However, it is a journey that your character has been on since the early single digits. And I believe Cursed have a similar quest, with some interesting reward.
I think, then, that a fun thing would be to extend this concept of the Epic Quest to all the classes, or if that proves burdensome, to the meta classes at least, with some dramatically appropriate reward.
Any ideas for quests or rewards? Or classes I forgot to list that already have one?

if you think about it, chronomancers have that one event in dikara altered for them.
celestials participate in that teleporter accident.
doombringer is abducted at some point
...
does "abashed expanses" for archmage counts?
these are not the same, but neither are the classes themselves.
lichform is the sole goal of all necromancy, no other class has such goals.

Yes, I would pay for this DLC/Donation, big choices are always fun and its something which could transfer across all current or future DLCs if done right.
I feel however you could do it across several classes at once to save time and still give people plenty of fun. (And by fun I mean fun and dwarf fortress fun)

On one hand, yes, I love those kinds of quests and wouldn't mind there being more of them.
However, doing them for all classes risks smelling of "forced symmetry", something that IMO makes the game less interesting. It goes from "Necromancers have a special, epic quest..." to "The class quest for Necros is..."
Not saying it can't be done, just that it needs to be done with care.

Re: Rough Idea: Epic Quests
One way to make it less terribly symmetric would be to have them happen at different points in the game, and maybe have more than one of them per class. Problems with that include the incentive to restart if you didn't get the "right" quest (based on reward or difficulty), and impact since a large boost in the middle of the game has different implications than a large boost at the beginning of the game. Of course, one of the good things about ToME's talent tree structure is the ability to spread out rewards a little.
Maybe some of the quests could take the place of one or more of the Prides? A common complaint about the ToME endgame is it gets too samey and takes too long. Adding a unique experience to that would help with sameness, but add length, but if it takes the place of one of the Prides...
