I tried to wait for the cultists to finish the ritual but they never do. I went around with some spellscar amulet removing all the walls on the entire ID floor with it until only one unremovable room was left (and got no demolitionist achievement, ha), but even though maybe 2 weeks of in-game time passed, they never summoned her.
I propose some countdown till they finally do it, maybe within a day after entering. Then she would truly be full power, and the crown would also. Maybe this could be how to have the crown be able to summon her for the pc!
To make the completed ritual really hard, it could summon such a full-powered Shas from each of the pillars at the same time, like they are all her, sharing the same hp pool; thus she would have that many times more the hp than she would from one body, and the player would have an interesting time fighting her since all of her bodies would remain till the full, gigantic pool hit zero. After her multiself is defeated, she could second life as a single body and try to finish off the pc, or maybe try to make a deal with the pc if the pc is not weakened enough, like give you her crown.
Reward either way: Ability to summon her and the crown floats above your head in its own slot, like you see it floating above her, so it doesn’t even take up the head slot. That would be a pretty hot reward for the completed ritual.
When I fought her in ID, I happened to copy an inner demon ability from her with a sword I got that eats souls, the first time I fought her when she was weak, so then when I went for her full power self I made her fight like 6 of herself at once, they kept showing up around her, and I kept repeating the spell, ha. That’s all I did the whole battle and she was at her most powerful. Finally she dropped meteors on herself and committed suicide when they had her almost dead, and then I went and ate her one remaining inner demon (probably not a healthy thing to do...). But seeing a lot of her gave me this idea. In fact, since she is a demon, should her inner demons attack her or side with her? What if inner demon cast on a demon just gave them allies?! : O

edit:
But the cultists would have to all be in accessible places. I have found them trapped in rooms like 4 or more walls deep with no way in except digging in, and that would prevent Shas from getting out also. In fact I think it did that once. I couldn't find her anywhere once. I get her quite often, seems every few levels....

You did kill a cultist, didn't you?

It'd kind of suck if you're wandering a big level, clearing it out, and suddenly an elite boss is storming down unexpectedly. Having a user action initiate the whole thing helps a lot.

An hourglass would help with plenty of time on it. And maybe as it gets closer, a warning like, "Should you really leave those cultists alone? They are creating an increasingly disturbing aura."

Re: Shas Fully Completed Ritual
Both of those things already exist. Once you kill the first cultist, an hourglass starts counting down the turns till S makes her debut. Once she arrives, you should get a popup dialogue box warning you of her presence, and that you should leave the level.xnd wrote:An hourglass would help with plenty of time on it. Edit: misread a little; seems like you're recommending that the ritual completes itself with only the player's presence in mind, as opposed to the way it is currently, where we have to kill a cultist? I don't like how that takes away control from the player, especially given that S can appear in Reknor.

I think it also triggers if a mob kills a cultist. Lightning users and rock throwers can very easily kill a random cultist.
Re: Shas Fully Completed Ritual
Well, what if the player triggers it somehow without killing a cultist? Like, ask the cultist, "Hey what are you guys up to, btw?" And then dialogue option could be like,
1. Hmm, maybe I should stop these guys (attack him).
2. Well it sounds like it'll take forever, I'll be long gone (ignore him).
3. Give them an artifact so they could siphon power from to complete the ritual while I am still here (starts the clock).
