Self-explanitory.
There was an excellent topic done before about the Aim/Rapid Shot comparison, wherein Aim and Rapid Shot come out, over the whole game, as very comparable talents.
Aim has a downside Rapid Shot doesn't, though, and while it's very easy to play around, it's very odd and not really necessary.
Rapid Shot happens to be the better talent at endgame, too, meaning that Aim probably doesn't need any reasons to be seen as weaker(people tend to rationalize towards the talent that is better at endgame when given two similar power choices that are in some way exclusive, I've found.).

Re: Remove Aim's self-pin
Gonna have to push this, my archer winners never really liked Aim for two reasons.
It puts Rapid Shot on cooldown and it pins. It really had two costs to it, and more if Aim actually turned out to be worse than just rapid shot, as I was stuck with just normal shots. Removing the pin and reducing the between stance cooldown would be nice.

Re: Remove Aim's self-pin
Yeah the Aim / Rapid Shot pair could use some love.
I dislike investing in both, and I dislike the pin on Aim, so Rapid Shot tends to be what I use exclusively.
Fix ideas:
- Grant Rapid Shot & Aim by leveling up a single talent. Now you've got both even if you're only mostly interested in one or the other.
- Make them both timed effects, so you'd be rewarded for cleverly alternating rather then punished with linked cooldown for trying to alternate.
- Make them both passive effects: gain free Rapid Shot buff when you teleport or move (only lasts 1 shot); gain free Aim when you hit the same target twice without moving (stacks 3~5 times or so).
Those could be combined, too: one talent which grants both passives, for example.

Um...as of my last Archer(played less then a week ago), Aim no longer pins.Doctornull wrote:Yeah the Aim / Rapid Shot pair could use some love.

Great, that's one issue down.NemesisZeru wrote:Um...as of my last Archer(played less then a week ago), Aim no longer pins.Doctornull wrote:Yeah the Aim / Rapid Shot pair could use some love.

Now for the other issues, I suppose.
