I found myself getting a big agitated at traps auto-placing whenever the Auto-Target function was on. It's a great function for melee combat and seems to work for most forms of melee combat, as there aren't instances where you want to attack an empty square with a melee-range ability. Except for traps. Placing a trap under the mob doesn't do much, and I get why. If they instantly activated when dropped on a mob, it would be used as a melee strike by some. If a mob closed distance on me on a rogue and I knew I could survive a hit, I would drop a trap at my feet and run, pathing the mob through it. This can't be done with the auto-target.
Yes, I did just disable it, but I found myself missing it on other classes and constantly going back and forth was annoying. I get that it's a nitpick, but I seriously can't think of a good reason why this was an intentional feature, so I figured it was an oversight. Due to the range of default traps, that makes sense. Same as other auto-target abilities.
I did a quick search and didn't see any recent posts about this, so if there is one, I apologize.
tl;dr: Make auto-target melee not work on traps as it has a unique method of "targeting" mobs in gameplay.
Make traps not auto-target single adjacent mobs
