Give necromancers spell/water
Exactly what the title says - feels odd that they can get spell/Ice but not spell/water.

I was thinking of suggesting the same thing, mostly so they can get freeze. If the master gets freeze, why can't we? Also would make an ice-focused necro build much more appealing. It's not like it would unbalance them either, I've always felt they were the weakest of the ranged spellcasters anyways.

It is kind of odd that Necromancers get an advanced elemental tree but not its corresponding basic one though.

Seems fine to me.
Low minions play is generally not great, and a bunch of spells that blow up your minions is safe enough to add.
Freeze is the only benefit to high minions play, and while a good spell, I don't think it's good enough so that it would be out of place on Necros.

I would mostly want tidal wave so that I can regenerate enough aura kills at a time to make a lot of minions in a hurry if need be.

Not keen on this personally.
Glacial Vapour and Freeze are pretty much just alternates of Frozen Flames and Ice Shards.
Tidalwave and Shivgoroth Form don't fit with the Necro flavour well.
I think this would be best left as an Adventurer class thing. (or maybe as some sort of escort/quest reward allowing you to learn a non necromancer Spell category)
Another cold spell would be nice though. Vampiric Gift doens't quite feel right in the Grave category. I might make a little addon. A nice icky Spell/Charnel category could be fun...

Nice idea. IMO, it would make minions completely unattractive, compared to crazy two-affinities build.

Ice Shards has next to nothing in common with freeze beyond being a ice spell, and since its in spell/ice, that would be a problem with the ice magic trees as a whole. Seriously, Ice shards is multi-target, stupidly slow projectiles, and freeze is insta-hit and single target.HousePet wrote:Not keen on this personally.

Glacial Vapor only shares being an AoE ice attack with Cold flames.
As for tidal wave and Shivgoroth form, IMO those two don't fit with the tree period. Tidal Wave is the only actual water spell in the tree, and Shivgoroth form feels like WAY too advanced an ability to be available at level 12 with no cat point spent.
