One thing that I dislike in TOME is a large no-brainer - option to invest category point into known category, while it's a nice option for some categories it's a huge waste for majority of talent trees, some trees don't even scale with level at all!
I propose to add 5th skill to (some) existing trees, unlockable by spending category point, +0.2 bonus should remain, too.
I very well understand how many talent trees game already has and that it's more work than adding a new class or two... But imagine all the new tactical choices we will have if investing category point in every existing talent tree will be a viable way to spend a category point
Also, I am sure that community can aid Darkgod with ideas for that 5th talent for all existing trees

I don't think adding a 5th skill is the way to get there. Break points and goodies at talent level 7 are the way to go.
Two of the Doomed talents scale very nicely - Shadows gets an extra shadow if you put a cat point in it, Force of Will's last talent has a bonus attack with a very nicely scaling probability. Earth lets you get range 10 on your Pulverizing Auger.
Additional talents on the other hand ought to be available the usual way - by putting in locked trees.

Also, while it certainly is possible to make the 150~ or so talents necessary, easy isn't in it. That's actually more like adding four or five classes...
