So... not only did I manage to dupe a tier 5 longsword using the vault by accident (http://forums.te4.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=35782), they can be equipped by my level 16 reaver because equipment with prerequisites by default do not get the level prerequisite added to them when they are transferred to the fault. And 48 strength on the tier 5 longsword is incredibly easy to achieve by the time one can hit the fortress.
Not to mention the transfer of powerful misc items like Blood of Life, Heart of Sandworm Queen, Burning Star, Mummified Egg Sac etc.
I know players could control themselves and not abuse these things if they choose to. But should we limit this to not cheapen achievements?

Re: Controlling the usage of the vault? (Donator feature)
I think that, accidental bugs aside and a few abusive consumables aside, the thing that will keep the vault under control is having very limited slots, and the fact that most endgame equipment is very balanced by endgame standards. Sure, you can get an easier early or midgame, but that only will get you so far.
Sure, you can stack a bunch of spider eggs/Burning Stars and eventually get a pretty powerful character. One pretty powerful character, using the artifacts of half a dozen that had to get pretty far to start with. It allows for grinding to win, but for a time to win ratio, it's terribly bad-you could have done the same thing by running half a dozen characters through Farportals until you got a soft draw of Farportal bosses and just walked out with a bunch of great equipment and levels.
I'm not too worried about it(as someone who does get clears from skill. At least, I like to think it is skill.), just as long as I can tell which characters did it. The latter mostly matters to me just so I don't, say, find myself wondering how a weird build got off the ground.

Re: Controlling the usage of the vault? (Donator feature)
Actually you just need one, since donators get explorer mode too which allows them to grind using 1 character, which can get far simply by reviving his way through the late game haha.
Re: Controlling the usage of the vault? (Donator feature)
I don't see it as an issue really. If you want to do it the hard way, the option is there. If you find something like the trident of the tides and think 'hmm I wonder if I could do an arcane blade with the trident, it could be cool', the option is there to try it on your next char.
If people want to exploit it to get a girdle of preservation imbued with goeldath rock, I'm fine with it as well. It's borderline cheating, but it's their game.

That sounds like a second bug, which should also be reported.Sooty wrote:So... not only did I manage to dupe a tier 5 longsword using the vault by accident (http://forums.te4.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=35782), they can be equipped by my level 16 reaver because equipment with prerequisites by default do not get the level prerequisite added to them
Heh... typo, or not? Can't decide.when they are transferred to the fault.
