Yeek Deaths

#1 Post by HousePet »

I was going to suggest Yeeks have more start hp, but I had a better idea.

To fit better with the 'sacrificing for the Way' ideal, when a Yeek dies, don't send them to the Eidolon Plane.
Instead have a copy of the character appear as though summoned through the Way, which the player takes control of.
This copy will have all the same stat/talents/equip as the dying character, but be at full resources/no status effects.
This will use up a life.

Mechanically, this means that enemies don't get a chance to heal between player deaths, which will help greatly in early zones where you don't have many choices but to attack and hope for the best.

Flavourwise, 'Sacrifice For The Way!'
My feedback meter decays into coding. Give me feedback and I make mods.

This would... actually be pretty amusing. My only addendum would be to randomize the gender of the copy :P

... and maybe the name. Or let you rename, and have the death info mention which one was murdered.

However, mechanically this would also deactivate sustains on the player and have some cooldowns. Part of the appeal of going to the elodion plane is to heal up. However, it does beg the question of why there would be an exact copy.

Different ways of revival for different characters could be interesting, but it might not fit with the lore.

Well an exact copy is just to keep the long term effect of loosing a life the same as for other races.
Having some sustains active would be useful, but when at full health and everything ready to use I don't think it would matter than much.
Activated all sustains automagically could work too.
