Unbound keys

I'm not sure how easy or difficult it would be to code, but I'd like to see a setting for remembering unbound keys.

For example, I have several characters that have been lucky enough to save an Alchemist escort, and almost always I'll choose the Stone Alchemy tree so that I can take Extract Gems. Now, the greedy person that I am is just doing it for the money that gems bring when selling or transmogrifying. I'm glad that learning the skill also grants you Create Alchemist Gems, but I'm not going to use it, and it always binds itself to the next available hotkey. It's no problem to unbind it, but it doesn't remember that setting across characters. So if I were to play that exact same race/class combo, learn Extract Gems, Create Alchemist Gems would still bind to the next hotkey.

Another example would be for sustains. With the auto-use settings, I don't really feel the need to have to bind them to hotkeys anymore. However, if I choose to unbind them then the next time I learn them they'll go to the first available hotkey again. So I'd really like to see the ability to say "No, I really don't want this bound at all" added if possible, remembered across characters like the other hotkeys are.
