Oh hey- did you ever decide on those Thought Form tiles? Or would you go with a cool shader-effect over the tiles you're currently using?

They're shaded now. Darkgod implemented a color parameter for the shadow simulacrum shader.

Here's a few screenshots I took yesterday as I was implementing multi-tile support.

Yeah, you can still sleep yourself while lucid dreaming. You're not immune to sleep (in fact you're already asleep). You should be able to act normally though with the sleep debuff on you and if you have sleep high enough that it's contagious you can even pass it off to other actors ;)

If you couldn't act that's a bug.
