Ability to Delete Achievements and Safeguard Against Cheats
I enjoy using the debug commands to examine how certain builds and skills play out at high levels. However, this led to me having 5 achievements that I don't deserve showing up on my profile. I want to reach them fairly and would really like to be able to delete the ones that I didn't earn straight-up. Could that be added as an option? Also, the game should not recognize achievements done in cheat mode at all. Thanks!

This is still beta, so having an achievement you don't deserve just by playing around the game isn't frowned upon. You shouldn't get online achievements unless you have a validated game but maybe that's not working properly somehow.
Hell, I even got The Room of Death (Insane) back from when Insane mode was just 'mobs with higher stats' mode.

I disagree that achievements shouldn't be recognized at all in cheat mode because cheat mode == development mode. It's primary purpose is to test things which could include if an achievement works properly or not.
That said I agree that it shouldn't pollute the online profile.

Re: Ability to Delete Achievements and Safeguard Against Che
@ Dervic and Edge- that's exactly what I'm saying, it is a bug that the online profile is recognizing these achievements even though when the game starts, it says that the online profile is disabled due to cheat mode. I don't care if it pops up in-game. Maybe I should move this to bug reports? Also, deleting achievements posted due to this problem could possibly be implemented via the website with no change to the game code.
Re: Ability to Delete Achievements and Safeguard Against Che
Seems like the problem is that it forces you online. Anticheating in single-player games is worse than pointless, it's detrimental. Why are there 2 different 5 second saves every time you change area? I'm not sure why there are any saves at all.
Make an achievement for cheating or save-scumming and be done with it.

Why are there saves ????? err .. dunno .. maybe so that when you leave a zone you can come back to it ? to when you shutdown the game you can continue play later ?

I think you missed the point. Someone was testing things and got achievements they didn't feel they earned.cyrn wrote:Seems like the problem is that it forces you online. As to saves and what not, it's partially anti-scumming, partially so the game runs faster, and partially so if the game crashes (or you have a power outage) you don't loose hours of progress.
Re: Ability to Delete Achievements and Safeguard Against Che
Saving makes the game run slower. 10s slower per zone as mentioned. Which sucks when you go from one area to the fortress to the map to another area.
True it could be used to release memory but it doesn't.
I'm happy to say I've never seen the game crash loading an area.
It's entirely to prevent someone from 'cheating' which they can still do in much simpler ways and I don't really understand wanting to make the game less enjoyable for people who want to do that. Obviously manually saving should still exist.

Think what you wish, I hold no power over your mind.
However I repeat saving zones when you leave them is solely to make things *work*.
It would be so much easier for me to prevent cheating if zones didnt save like they do ...
