Self explanatory. Ghouls rely heavily on HP, but they level slowly enough to make that advantage less standout than it should be until quite late. And they are generally considered a weaker race, if not a challenge race, even. Despite that, they are tied with Skeleton for game-worst EXP modifier, at 40%. (Few people will argue that Skeleton does not justify that.)
10% seems more in line with their advantages/disadvantages. If anything, I could see it being lower, but 10% feels right somehow.

Now that they need to breathe (I seem to recall they didn't in previous versions), I'd agree to lowering the XP penalty some, but not to 10%. That would make them one of the best races out there. Only Yeeks, who get an xp bonus, and Cornacs, who get no stat changes or racial skills (only a starter category point), are better than that. 25-30% at the lowest sounds good to me.

Ghouls have less clears on the uploader than every race in the game, I believe-even Yeeks have twice as many, and Yeeks had a bug where their ending clears wouldn't count on the uploader for a while, if I recall right.
Higher have a 15% EXP modifier. I don't think anyone is touting Higher as being overpowered.
They may get a lot of stats and tricks, but for every four actions they take, an enemy-every enemy-gets five, unless you do something specific to counteract that, which only a few classes can(and synergy with classes is something that the overall race should not be penalized for.). Ignoring that in any assessment of a Ghoul is...honestly, ridiculous.
I don't think it's that out of place of a suggestion.

mmm, I think that, like Ghoul has some good classes, Skeleton also has some good classes in the same vein.
Just because Skeleton is really good some of the time, like Archmage or Archer, doesn't mean they make exceptional, say, Berserkers. (There are a couple Skeleton Berserker wins on the uploader, they don't make bad ones, but they don't feel that special at it.) 40% kinda feels right for that, though I admit it's subjective.
Of course IIRC you personally clear things on Roguelike, where Skeletons shine the most. Maybe they should get +10% EXP mod on Roguelike.

Ghouls are under-rated I think. People look at the negatives and don't want to touch them. I wouldn't be against the xp mod being reduced, but I think a lot of the criticism against them is made by people that don't play them much.

I'm one of those five Ghoul clears on there, to be clear, so on some level I obviously agree. Especially since that was my first clear.
They make really excellent Necromancers, to the point where being the only Necromancer Ghoul clear up there saddens me.
But having said that, they do feel out of place as one of the highest EXP modifier races in the game, and feel like being #3 or #4 best-10 to 20% range-feels right. They would make good tanks, but it's so hard to suggest a Ghoul Berserker when I know they're going to be a few levels worth of HP behind at all times, and not actually be good tanks, compared to say a Higher, as it stands.
10% I suggested because it would (hopefully) catch the eye of people that otherwise refuse to play them due to that aversion-it's a nice, simple advantage without being gamebreaking. 20% doesn't feel like it would.

Yeah, something to allure people in would be good. The exp mods don't really made any difference in my opinion, since the zones change level with you anyway. If anything I prefer a slower xp curve.
