Ran into this problem with my sun paladin. For some reason I didn't notice the rod after killing first boss. Now I'm stuck in the necromancer crypt with no way out.
Just thinking that if the rod auto-picked up I wouldn't be in this situation, and let's face it, the rod is an integral part of the game now for more than one reason.
(I DID unlock Necromancer though, which I'm really excited to try now!!)
In the mean time, if someone were to create a lil' addon or something that puts a rod of recall at my feet i would be very grateful!
