Void Shard nerf?
The Void Horror talent that summons several void shards next to you can detonate them immediately, causing an unexpected burst of damage with no counter (700+ from a lvl 49 one recently). I think that Void shards should be nerfed to prevent immediate detonation, giving the player time to react by running, shielding, or other actions.

Did you have an active AoE? Because I just tested this with a level 54 Void Horror and the Void Shards had enough hit points that if I left them alone they didn't explode at all.
This is probably more an issue of lack of communication then the talent needing to be adjusted. Void Shards are simply weak enemies with a debuff on them that's similar to that Poison Worm spell (in fact it's the same debuff the Destabilization chronomancy spell applies). If the shards aren't taking damage they should be able to survive the debuff without exploding. If you attack them before the debuff wears off they'll most likely set off a chain reaction. If you're fighting a Void Horror along with enemies that AoE you'll need to be very careful so you don't get insta-gibbed.
The debuff description explains what's going on pretty clearly but the player has no way of reading those descriptions on NPCs right now.
Anyway, they could get a 1 turn time prison on them to prevent other NPCs from exploding them before the player gets a chance to react.

I didn't think of that, they were probably hit by Corona projectiles, Lightning (from Eelskin Armour) or Hymn of Moonlight beams. Even so, a 1 turn time prison effect, or giving them a 1 turn window that you can kill them without explosions would be good IMO.edge2054 wrote:Did you have an active AoE? My first encounter with them was with a Rogue ( with shield up). Used Sweep as three were in front of me, and winced as my 500 point shield was destroyed along with all but 100 health
