I would use this both for encumbrance items when I've cleared out a zone and am cleaning up the loot, and in some cases (depending on what drops the character's had), switching around rings to suit a different area. Also a Deep item for when I go swimming

Hotkeying Equipment Changes
This wouldn't take away the need for the secondary weapon slot since that's a special case which can accommodate both a weapon and a shield, or a dual-wield change in one move, which is a good feature... Rather, I'm looking to address the situations where players may wish to hotkey a different item, such as a pair of speedy boots to make a getaway, or that handy belt of carrying for when you get overloaded... Or in other cases, if you hotkey an activable item that you're no longer wearing, it could prompt you "You are not wearing this item. Put it on now?", then the next turn you would be able to activate it with the same key.

What do you think of this idea, and how would you use this yourself to save some time/keys/clicks?
