Or maybe keep it a standard ego, but add resistance/immunity to slowing - somewhat odd how that's currently not supported.

Finding a good slimy weapon can be really important for some classes/builds. I like it as available as it is, though I think that the slime effect shouldn't be applied 100% of the time (or whatever it currently is).

There are already saving throws against it (which will change into effect reduction next beta). Advantages of slime being a greater ego:

1. It'll appear on randarts
2. Enemies might have it less (especially those fecking archers)
3. It makes sense!

But we already have Vile... And Ammo egos are an entirely different thingy.
