It's very easy for a regular difficulty player to lose all of their lives in the Temporal Rift and the Crypt of Kryl'Feijan. The difficulty for these encounters seem about right, but they both provide unique and fast-paced challenges that some classes can't handle without considerable preparation. The problem I see is that you can't use the Eidolon to escape the Rift or the last room of the Crypt (I think, it's been a while). In these cases, the Eidolon should let you return to the world map, and the appropriate quest should be failed (also, the Rift should be closed).
Something similar should be done for the Paradox Mage encounter for Temporal Wardens, though I'm not sure what the best solution would be. The chain of events is rather (appropriately!) convoluted. Epoch is very difficult.
