Suggested changes to 'frozen in ice' situation

#1 Post by Gliktch »

There are already bug posts about attack effects bouncing back onto the player when damaging or when destroying an ice block around you, but I was thinking that while that bit of the code is being tweaked to work around those issues, maybe it could also be changed so that fire damage does double damage to the ice? And perhaps give a chance based on strength and luck or other attributes to break out of the ice early if that wouldn't be too much of a problem for players who use freezing offensively... :?:

I've been wanting the ice cube to be fire vulnerable for a while, and when I saw the title thread I thought 'I'll suggest it...'. Turns out I'm not the only one who had that idea :D

However...a chance based on strength and luck to break out of the ice early doesn't make a lot of sense. Strength already helps you break out early by letting you attack the ice for more damage.

If we're talking about other possible changes...maybe increase the % of damage absorbed by the cube, but make being frozen deal constant cold damage(you ARE inside an ice cube).

That WOULD imply that cold resistant/immune things could reliably use it as a shield, but I sorta like the idea actually.

Yes, good point about the strength thing.. Let's say then, that if no other changes were made but removing effect bouncing and implementing a cold immunity and fire vulnerability, it would be much improved :D
