Eek... a yeek idea

#1 Post by Hedrachi »

Right now, the second yeek intro quest(Light at the end of the tunnel) is instantly completed upon entry to ruined halfling complex 4. Just by going into that dungeon, you've completed the second quest. It involved nothing more than a single click of the mouse, two keys being pressed, etc. But, you're thrown into a fight that absolutely requires you to have ranged attacks, crowd control, and a good deal of luck because Z is so much bigger than you - a single crit on any of his powers will almost certainly instakill you, and as a mindslayer, it's impossible to get spiked shields ready and able to protect you. As an example, I could swear my last mindslayer to get to Z (in b30), had to face off against a Z with a shocking dwarven-steel dagger of paradox, and a flaming dagger of some sort.. his temporal damage was easily the highest against the Wayist, who was killed - easily.

What I would propose is this: Have the exit to Maj'Eyal (on the Island of Rel) drop you somewhere near Derth, and change the "Light at the end of the tunnel" quest to something you get in addition to the "Into the darkness" quest, and have the Light quest complete at Z's death. If Irkkk ever gets implemented, and non-Yeek, non-Halflings kill Z, the Island of Rel exit will work if they chose the conversation options which gets them confusion resist and mental saves.
Having satellite internet is a lot like relying on the processes described in those RFC's for your internet. Except, instead of needing to worry about statues interrupting your connection, this time you worry about the weather. I have satellite internet. Fun, no?

Hrm. On one hand it'd make things a lot easier, but on the other hand, I think it'd reduce the unique flavor of the Yeek start...

Once Irkkk is implemented, you'll presumably be able to buy things you need for the fight there. That'll help a lot.
