"There is a Derth (town) here " is somewhat clumsily constructed sentence.
"There is a town here (Derth).", would be much more syntactically elegant
I appreciate that this is due to the fact that code uses the tile name with every noticeable tile in thatparticular way. Should be fixable though, right, add a clause for towns?

Re: Improve Town labels on the World Map
Better would be "Derth (town) is here", and this could be generalised across all locations.

I'm slightly less fond of that particular style Grey, seems a bit matter-of-fact!

"In your wanderings you come upon Derth, a peaceful and welcoming town."
Hmm, I wonder if it might be a good idea to create long descriptions for all locations like that, with some hint of the difficulty of the place.

No need for a complete sentence when a simple label will do.
"The town of Derth."
"The town of Derth."

A combination of the above two posts would be good. Sus's simple label is fine, with a flavourful long description is nice too.

How about
Derth (town), friendly
Does not get more concise than that.
