Could the AI be adjusted to actively try to avoid area-of-effect damage-over-time spells like Corrosive Vapour or Searing Light? Just lost the Yeek because the stupid bugger ran through the "lit" square on Searing Light's last turn of existence, when the thing I had cast it on was Z.
Or alternatively, recognize that something else was hurt more by the attack, and not immediately and permanently go hostile?
