Reduce the height of the High Peak
Currently, it's just 15 long levels of boredom and lagginess. 10 would be more than enough...

Let's find a way to make the fifteen levels not feel like a grind. More vaults, themed levels, scripted events, minibosses, special monsters, etc.

DGrey's bone files mini-bosses would be great
Maybe one every five levels.
High Peak is still pretty laggy though, or was last time I was in there.
As to vaults I didn't open a single one. When you're on the last leg of the run rather then preparing for it a side trip into an area with level 80 monsters sounds like a bad idea. Maybe that will change next beta with the drops being readjusted but I had explored plenty of vaults with level 60+ monsters and had my fill of Iron Waraxes as rewards

Okay. Various characters and/or notes hint that level 8 contains something which players might want to avoid. On level 6, a closed off balcony makes an alternative exit to the level. The balcony exit leads to the outside of the mountain. The outside is a mostly open map in which every square is subjected to bolts of lightning and wind that knocks everyone around. This should not be survivable (at least, not for long), but the orcs have built a group of towers that poke out of the side of the mountain. These tower rooms are exempt from the weather. The player has to cross the map by dashing and teleporting from one tower to the next until the final dash takes them to the exit. The exit drops the player on level 9.Susramanian wrote:Let's find a way to make the fifteen levels not feel like a grind. Obviously it needs work, but it would spice up the High Peak.

It also doesn't help that you need to go through that orc camp and slime tunnels. Seriously 20+ levels just gets really boring. I liked the mini boss so I like the idea of less levels and more events on those levels; perhaps some events more explaining of the last boss. I would really like to see some stuff to prepare you for the last boss since it is slightly different than the rest of the game. Like a mini one on one battle which each of the last bosses and mini bosses that require you to close a portal.
