Fredaril, the completely uninjured escort

It seems a little odd that you keep running into all these injured people who need escorting, but you never meet them when they're healthy. I suggest that healthy adventurers be added to the game. Occasionally (say, a 1-in-5 chance), a level will generate a single adventurer along with its usual horde of ravenous beasts. This adventurer will start in a random spot on the map. From there, it will travel to either the entrance to a level, the exit from a level, or the local portal, if there is one. Along the way, the adventurer will attempt to slay monsters just like they would if the player were escorting it. Of course the player is not escorting the adventurer; the adventurer is perfectly healthy, and doesn't need an escort. The only benefit the adventurer offers to the player is as a temporary companion, and a welcome relief from the daily axe-grind of genocide. Once the adventurer reaches its destination it will vanish, never to be seen again.

For more fun, include a little adventurer/player dialog. Bumping into an adventurer the first time will offer a randomized conversation (and further bumping will simply swap places). Below I offer a few sample conversations, to provide inspiration.

Fredaril: Hello there, stranger!
Player: A) Hello! B) Greetings, mammal. C) KILL! KILL! KILL!
Fredaril: Lovely weather we're having, isn't it?
Player: A) It certainly is. B) We're underground. How can you possibly...
Fredaril: Well, it's been nice chatting with you. Farewell!
Player: A) Goodbye.

Cuthrax: KILL! KILL! KILL!
Player: A) Wait, I'm not a monster! B) [jump up and down] KILL! KILL! KILL!
Cuthrax: I'm headed to <nearby town>. I hear they have good (beer, beds, battlements) there.
Player: A) It's a fine place. B) It's an awful place. C) I've never been there.
Cuthrax: Well, it's been nice chatting with you. Farewell!
Player: A) Goodbye.

Dylan: I'm scared of this place...
Player: A) Never fear! I have made the road safe! B) Yeah, it's pretty nasty. C) How did you even get here, anyway?
Dylan: I'm headed to <nearby town>. I'm planning to (attend a meeting with, pick up, seduce) some (men, women, tacos) when I get there.
Player: A) Sounds like fun! B) Wait, what?
Dylan: I'd better get going. I hope to see you again later!
Player: A) Bye. B) Not a chance, creep.

As an added bonus, I think the bright heads around here will quickly come up with fun things to do with random allies.

It would be very funny. I would put them in cities also, with different dialogs of course. And also on patrols. Perhaps trading would be fun. Or a time limited opportunity to party with them. And quests.
