I haven't played the Infinite Dungeons much yet, but I did like what I saw so far.
Been doing some brainstorming on the subject, and I came up with some ideas that might improve on it:
Please, share your thoughts on them.
- new rescource: infinitium. Every time you descend a staircase, you gain +1 infinitium. Every time you go back up a staircase, you lose 2 infinitium.
- new special power: Ad Infinitum. using this talent consumes all of your current infinitium, boosting all of your stats by the amount of infinitium used. Moving up or down, to another dungeon level will bring your stats back to normal. Might save your ass when meeting that level 250 elite demon.
- throw in random escort quests, one every 10 dungeon levels or so.
- additional escort quests, specific to the ID:
"Lost Jeweler": getting him to the portal safely will give you the chance to create a ring, same as with normal jewelers,or gain a random ring.
"Lost Master Jeweler": getting him to the portal let's you create one special piece of jewelry, as per the jeweler's quest, or gain a random ego (blue) ring
"Lost Halfling Burglar": as a reward, you may choose either +1 to luck, or +3 to stealth
"Lost Cornac Elder": as a reward, you may choose between +1 talent category point (to use on new trees gained from other escort quests, sandworm queen hearts, or just for boosting your known talent trees), or +2 to all stats
"Lost Zigurite": reward: access to the anti-magic tree. Beware, for you will no longer be able to use any magic things if you choose to rescue this escort.
"Lost Warmaster" reward: choose between the combat tree, the shoot talent (like the trainer in Last Hope), or +1 to all 3 physical stats
"Lost High Mage" reward: choose between a class point, a generic point, or +1 to all 3 mental stats.

I personally like the pure iron man style of the dungeons. Plus the escorts would be potentially abusable - the place is infinite, y'know.

I think what I missed are some shop levels
Maybe random or maybe fixed every... 20 levels?
We could use them to recharge wands or look for that item that never seems to drop
Maybe some of them have a jeweler?
I know it's not very realistic to have a merchant peacefully working on dungeon level 1020 but "infinite" is not exactly realistic either... maybe instead of a level we find a portal to a distant merchant city

Het has talked about doing some jewelry tiles. Basically one use tiles that let you create a ring.
Personally I'd like a use for all the gold and gems I auto-loot but dungeon towns are to much.

Unless one did it in a very camp way - a town of ghosts, or a town of demons, who charge quite silly prices because of their dislike of adventurers penetrating infinity. Perhaps some could have a good moan about why Ralkur ever summoned them to this place...

Right now, the infinite dungeon is not playable beyond level 150 or so.
Monsters keep getting more and more hp (into tens of thousands), but their stat points are capped at 100. That means they cannot even damage a high-end player, but they take for ever to kill.
Loot does not scale with dungeon level. At level 500 or so, if you generate greater ego (something, rings or maces I cant remember) then they are generated white with no ego.
On top of all this, the same artifacts are created over and over again (b20b). If you drop one or do not pick it up, you just get it again next vault.
Vaults: Some vaults are still bugged and have worse loot than on the dungeon level.
So my ideas for the infinite dungeon: fix all this xD.
