Remove blinding speed -> add RUN

#1 Post by Canderel »

Blinding speed adds 5% speed for 5 turns... costing  25 stamina (I am calculating backwards but maybe make a mistake)... It's not a lot... and it's not for long.

How about RUN... Which adds 10-40% (more skill points) speed for however long you want (sustain) but takes stamina increasing per turn. So activating it for 5 turns could cost +-25 stamina (3,4,5,6,7 = 25) stamina for 5 turns, but 33 for 6. And so on. Stamina usage could go up as speed gain goes up? Not sure if it should.

Speed advantage is reduced by 50% (30%*50% = 15% speed increase) with heavy armor, and reduced by 66% for massive armor...

Meaning, you don't go much quicker with armor, but you pay a lot more (cause you are fatigued already), meaning again, it's really more for rogues and other classes who doesn't use heavy armor / massive armor.

self:setEffect(self.EFF_SPEED, 5, {power=1 - (1 / (1 + self:getTalentLevel(t) * 0.06))})

It really only pays off if you invest more talent point into it.
It is acceptable the way it is now since it does not consume a turn to use, and a general speed boost can be quite powerful.

Here is the scaling:

I'm playing specifically speed-oriented shadowblade right now

and I didn't took blinding speed. Reason - it's a lot worse than Eden Guile and on par with Grace of Eternal. It doesn't stack with them, but replace. For player who already has Grace , Guile or Speed rune it doesn't make radical difference, but compete for valuable stamina with Momentum and special attacks. And on top of it it require all 5 points + 1 stepping point to be noticeable at all. In situation where I have both Guile and Grace spent&on cooldown I usually running Momentum already, which is more useful and consume all available stamina. So I'm in the camp for remaking Blinding Speed.
