Eidolon Plane: nice flavor zone... but sometimes useless

#1 Post by PowerWyrm »

Playing a yeek mindslayer (adventure mode), there's a high chance (almost a certainty) that you will die in the Ritch Tunnels from one of those impalers. It's nice to be able to rest safely in the Eidolon Plane, but bringing you back to the same spot with your energy bar depleted will have the same effect over and over until you lose all your lives. Basically you can play with one life, it's the same...

Hmmm, what if you could ask the Eidolon to tweak your resources? Most classes wouldn't need this, but it would be a faster way from paradox/psi/equilibrium/vim classes to prepare themselves for battle.

Yeah the only thing that's missing is having the energy bar replenished. For classes that can regenerate energy it's not a problem, but for the others like mindslayer it's almost seeing the Eidolon guy say "What? Back already?"

Along those lines it might be nice to have a "return me to the world map" option or "put me on the level stairs (if any)" as well as "back into the thick of things". Otherwise, if you're really in over your head and want to just bail out your extra lives are not helping at all.

Nice from the player's perspective, but who says the Eidolon is that forgiving.

Resources are now replenished.

Back to worldmap is a bit too much IMO
[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD

And if I just want to die? Can I choose that? I often want to restart if my death was very early. Currently that is not an option.

Hmmm, well the work-around is fairly simple. You can save-quit, and either delete the savefile from the Load Game menu or overwrite the character by starting a character with the same name. This does make me wonder how having the BoL currently works in Adventure mode, though...

Very well indeed! Had a rogue take on the Minotaur too early, lost my four lives from adventure mode really quick and then Blood of Life kicked in. I was resurrected with the Minotaur at half life and able to finish him off that time. It would have been nice to have been able to pick that option first though....
