the "I have the new version" thread
It's pretty. Love the new icons. I'm making a temporal warden first.
How about you?

New TW is a lot of fun.
Is it just me, or does chat no longer re-appear on mousewheel scrolling over the appropriate part of the screen?

Re: the "I have the new version" thread
Just downloaded it. Once more unto the breach, dear friends.
EDIT: Ran into one conflict with an add on (probably to be expected) but other than that, this *clearly* runs a lot smoother on my budget laptop where I usually game in power save mode to keep temperatures low. Like, really big improvement. Big thumbs up so far.

I've killed a hell of a lot of people to get to this point, but I've only one more. The last one. The one I'm driving to right now. The only one left.
And when I arrive at my destination, I am gonna kill Bill.

Finishing my Archmage run on the new version (first time on High Peak). The new version nerfes the Draconic Will/Timeless combination quite seriously. Timeless used to lower the cooldown on Draconic Will and prolong its duration if it was still active. With the right timing, one could chain DW three times with no gaps (using Metaflow). Add Stone Wall into the mix, and debuffs were basically just not an issue at all.
In the new version, Timeless does not affect DW, neither duration nor cooldown. I guess the final fight will be more interesting

Re: the "I have the new version" thread
absolutely love how smooth moving abilities around the skill bar has become!
Re: the "I have the new version" thread
It does seem rather smoother, but how can I make my bar a double set of icons again? It seems to have reverted to one bar and black row underneath with no skill tiles.

I'm in the middle of my most successful run so far, with a wyrmic character. Can anyone tell me if the update is safe, or should I wait until this character is done?
Re: the "I have the new version" thread
Press the unlock interface button, bottom right.
Then you can resize the bar and lock it again.

My feedback meter decays into coding. Give me feedback and I make mods.

Wyrmic got changed a fair bit, you should probably finish that one off.DuckAndCower wrote:I'm in the middle of my most successful run so far, with a wyrmic character. Can anyone tell me if the update is safe, or should I wait until this character is done?

Loads much faster and works a lot smoother. New icons are very stylish and attractive.
Great job everyone who worked on this.

Re: the "I have the new version" thread
The UI changes are particularly nice. Being able to see skill bar hotkeys when dragging icons is a big help.
Re: the "I have the new version" thread
Running the new Wyrmic right now that they feel much more in tune for the "flavor" of their character.
I think a few classes left (that you obviously haven't gotten to yet) can use a semi-remake similar to wyrmics to keep their flavor and make them more interesting with classes like bulwarks, Anorithil and the older cursed line.
New icons and such are A+

Re: the "I have the new version" thread
I'm trying the new Temporal Warden. A few problems are minor, and I expect I'll get used to them, but there's one more serious problem: my character has found a pickaxe, whose description doesn't seem to have changed from previous versions -- but it doesn't work. The icon to use it doesn't appear automatically on the icon ribbon, and when I drag it there manually and left-click on it, it does nothing but equip the pickaxe in place of my Sherd of Crystallised Time. left-clicking again has no effect. So digging is impossible...
[Later]
I managed to get by by assigning digging to a hot key -- but after changing level, the normal Dig icon appeared (pushing out the Timeport: Point Zero icon...). Things are now back to normal, I think.

This is a truly impressive update.
Props to Darkgod, and the team of awesome people that worked to bring this about.
