It's time to actually beat this game

#1 Post by nintura »

So after a million characters, I figured it's about time to finally beat this game. So I'm not sure what class I want to do that on. I think my best choices are Wyrmic, Archer, or Anorithil, but I have them all save the oozemaster unlocked. Suggestions?

Oozemaster is one of the strongest classes in normal. Worth a try.
I just can't understand why you like Wyrmic. It's ..... hard to manage in this version. Sun Paladin may be more reliable.

Im just familiar with wyrmic is all. It's the highest level in a class I've gotten so far, 34. The class doesn't do nearly enough damage however.

My first win was aether archmage. Pretty straightforward... ridiculous ranged and aoe damage. Think I used Higher for race.

What type of playstyle do you like to play and are good at? What Race are you partial too? What practices annoy you?

Many character combinations are perfect good choices to play, but it really comes down to what type of game play you excel at and can tolerate.

If I went with that route, I wouldn't have posted this :) I've already tried all my race/class combinations. I find Anorithils the most interesting but I've never gotten one far enough to do the whole pew pew build. Wyrmics are my favorite due to the toughness and aoe abilities (plus dragons, c'mon), and archers do the most insane damage. I've broken 1000 damage by lv 12 before with them.

Summoner is probably the "safest" choice you could possibly go with

If you like Anorithils, Wyrmics, and Archers and their respective playstyle then you should really stick with them. Try to stick with one or two classes and keep plugging away at.

Of the three you listed, the only class that might give a lot of trouble is the Wyrmic so maybe focus on Anorithils and Archers. This isn't to say the game isn't perfectly beatable on Wyrmics (I recently beat the game twice with a Thaloran and Yeek Wyrmic as of the recent big update that revamped a lot of stuff) but as you stated the lack of Damage Output can become your undoing.

As a note, if you have it you may want to give a try with Skirmishers. A new addition to the game, Skrimishers are another Archer type class with some interesting quirks that might present another playstyle you may want to try out and explore.

Oddly enough, AM Wyrmic was my first win. Of course, back then Mental Tyranny was crazy good and an early Anmalice was enough mind damage to qualify for it.

I'd suggest a summoner. I played a Cornac antimagic summoner (for the experience and antimagic generic points) and I was absolutely demolishing everything by focusing on Fire Drake and the Grand Arrival ability first, followed later by the other summons as I felt like. I just kept pumping Wil/Cun (and chose Cun equipment as much as possible), maxed the key fungus abilities for equilibrium gain and to have regen up 100% of the time (I eventually set both my regens to autocast), and also had very high antimagic skills.

I went Eye of the Tiger, but I regularly hit my summon cap and would have to spam what few other abilities I had - still, it made sure that I could keep my massive summons army at full strength at all times, you can decide how your cooldowns feel once you get to prodigy choice time. Spell Feedback was very useful, since mages were my most dangerous foes with their AOE knocking out my summons.

I had a surprisingly easy time winning with a temporal warden caster, and i wrote a guide on it. The build is extremely powerful once it gets going. To me, the easiest class/build to consitently win the game with is this one, hands down. Some of the more traditional "easy" classes are, as mentioned, summoners and oozemancers; im pretty sure alchemists are also quite consistent.

I find winning with Dwarven Solipsist very easy, and i also wrote a guide, which quite a few players have successfully used:

http://te4.org/wiki/Walk-through_for_Dwarven_Solipsist

But if you've unlocked oozemancer, just go Thaloren Oozemancer, unlock oozing blades at lvl 10, get bloated ooze tree to 5/1/1-5/5 and off you go. On normal it is actually hard to die at all, once you have oozes, mucus slimes, and oozebeam.

here is my nightmare roguelike winner, again, super powerful and lots of fun to play: http://te4.org/characters/2460/tome/bf4 ... d78ac5f40f

Alchemist? Their huge aoe just owns almost anyone, if you're careful enough
