AM - archmage or antimagic?
I've seen this confusion pop up in chat a number of times. I propose dropping the use of 'AM' completely and using new abbreviations for each. If we all come together on this, confusion will be a thing of the past!
In the future I will be using the following abbreviations:
Anti-magic will be shortened to FZ (representing 'filthy Zigur')
Archmage will be shortened to BURNALLTHETHINGS!!1!
Thank you for your time.

Well, I'm all for fz, but I won't capitalize them, for reasons relating to unworthiness on their part.
As for "BURNALLTHETHINGS!!1", I think, AMDcorrect me iI I'm wrong, that a short-form is supposed to be... Shorter. Besides, AM is open, now.

Re: AM - archmage or antimagic?
I support the lowercase argument — fz it is then.
My enthusiasm got the best of me when it came to archmage. How about DIEINMYFIREYOUFLEAINFESTED... ? Damn. Someone else will have to try and come up with something shorter.
If the goal is to avoid confusion, AM should be avoided completely; otherwise you don't know if they really mean archmage or are simply ignorant of our brilliant new rule.

Re: AM - archmage or antimagic?
AM is actually right.
Because it's a conspiracy. They both work for the same villain and are just 'pretending' to hate each other while the mastermind takes over the world.
It stands for All Mine. As in, the World is All Mine.
Who is this arch villain that could run such a foul network? Who could impersonate a Halfling with magic? Give themselves immortality?
Who's practically unkillable and when they do die mysteriously comes back a bit stronger? Or their enemies a bit weaker?
I don't know and the world of maj'eyal may never know.
For now we must just follow the breadcrumbs and hope that in time we can stop this foul villain.. or villainess, as the case may be.

Another important point: if the archmage term refers to fire you need a completely separate term for mana/aether builds and any other elemental builds that may someday be made workable.

Re: AM - archmage or antimagic?
Well, operating under edge2054's conspiracy theory perfectly sound, rational argument, a catch-all term for Archmages could be Arm. As in, leading to the hand of the controller, striking down those who oppose the One True Master's enemies with Flame, Lightning and the various components of raw Mana itself.

Re: AM - archmage or antimagic?
How about we abandon "AM" entirely and use:
- HM: Has Magic
- HM: Hates Magic
Or:
- IM: Is Magic
- IM: Isn't Magic
Or:
- LM: Lives Magic
- LM: Loathes Magic
Or:
- KM: Kills Mages
- KM: Knows Magic
- HM: Has Magic
- HM: Hates Magic
Or:
- IM: Is Magic
- IM: Isn't Magic

Re: AM - archmage or antimagic?
I disagree. Orcs have proven that warriors are superior to mages (Grushnak is a lot stronger than Vor).Marson wrote:Anti-magic will be shortened to FZ (representing 'filthy Zigur')
Another fact is that Angolwen is hidden from people because Zigur has too much influence, that means AM is superior to a point where mages have to run and hide from their enemies. Considering that I almost always go to Spellblaze and kill everyone, mage is simply a dead class

Re: AM - archmage or antimagic?
Orcs prove nothing. Of course a slackjaw brute like Grushnak is stronger than Vor. He's also stronger than Gorbat. In fact, Gorbat, the wilder orc, is in every category worse than the other Orc Pride leaders. The wyrmic is the worst, imagine that.
And Zigur, that oh so friendly haven of terrorists, hides from the mages of Angolwen themselves. Perhaps they are afraid? And killing Myssil is a walk in the park compared to the GC.
