Add-on problems

#1 Post by jacobgt7 »

So I know that using add-ons should be fairly simple, but I've already managed to screw something up. I tried to put the add-ons I wanted in the add-on folder as insructed by the website. Everything looked in order, but when I started up the game there was nothing on my add-ons list, not even the donor add-ons which I had previously obtained. I don't know for sure what happened, but I have a couple of theories:

1. I tried to use some add-ons which were listed as being for an older version of the t-engine.

2. While moving stuff into the folders (I have a glitchy mouse which sometimes freaks out for no reason and double clicks and stuff) I accidentally moved a text file titled CONTRIBUTING. I don't know where I moved it from, since it happened so fast, but it is currently in the add-ons folder where I felt like it belonged.

So one of those things could have initially caused the problem, yet even after removing the new add-ons from the folder I can't get the donor add-ons to come back. Any ideas?

contributing is in the tome home folder, same as t-engine.exe etc.

addons for older versions shouldnt cause this type of error afaik - they will show as incompatible and will cause problems ingame if theres conflicts, but not at that early stage of starting a game.

if it doesnt work after moving the contributing file just reinstall the game?

Thanks for the info. I tried moving it back but it still didn't work. I feel like I must have moved something becasue my tengine.exe is in a different spot in the folder than it used to be. Is there another file in the add-ons folder by default, not including add-on packages? It all seems very strange to me.
