Steam and Download version save files "incompatible"

Not sure if this is a bug or anything. But I started a new character earlier on the ToME client that downloads from the website. Later, after trying to access the same file the a steam version, it appears that my save file created on the downloaded client is considered "incompatible".

I'm wondering if there will be any ill effects on playing the "incompatible" file on the steam version, such as invalidating the character or something.

The te4.org client is 1.1.0 and the steam one 1.1.1 because of a few steam specific fixes, no problems
