ToME on Desura

#1 Post by Grey »

I'm not sure if DG is aware of this, since he hasn't announced it anywhere, but ToME is now on Desura:

http://www.desura.com/games/tales-of-majeyal

It's $10, for what I must presume is the donator's version, though it doesn't say that anywhere. I worry this may be a source of contention and bad reviews - it should say somewhere that this is the donator version with extras on top of the free version.

Edit: Or better yet, have both a free and donator's version accessible via Desura. Having the free version will help drive up downloads, which gets it better attention. Sales suck on Desura anyway, but enough downloads will help get it more publicity.

Edit2: Negative reviews already begun.

Edit3: All fixed, everything nice and rosy now. Go ToME! :D

Hi

I'm not so sure they are negative... :? :D

More confusion around what is going on! This needs to be clarified and fast! If someone has forked ToME and is doing a cash grab we need to sort that out.

If DG is doing this, then that too needs clarifying so everyone is aware of what is going on.
Regards

Jon.

Why this happened when I was asleep!

Sorry for the confusion people; I assumed they would notify me before activating it onsite so I could make an announcement; obviously I was wrong :)

Yes this is very legit and I had a new description to put on desura to make all this explicit; I wanted to add it today but yeah .. took me by surprise.
Anyway it's up now and the description is updated.

Please go give it good reviews; if you think the game deserves some ;)

Thanks for sorting this out, DarkGod, hopefully it should clarify things immensely.

How has the launch there gone? Had much attention?

Review scores are climbing back up :)

I tried making a Desura account to buy the game but it keeps screwing up! Desura seems to be a bit pants...

Well it's currently sitting on the first spot of the frontpage of Desura.

Please people, take a lil' bit of time to go post a comment/review of how the game is uber awesome ! :)

No OS X version there? (Does Desura even do mac games?) Also, mentioning this on the Greenlight page might help, if Valve isn't opposed to it.

EDIT: $9.97 Canadian. Gotta love that two (three?) cent discount...

Congrats! I've supported a lot of games on Desura and I'll definitely throw up a good review for ToME. It has deeper game play than many "mainstream" titles could ever hope for.

Hi, I'm the "emlurker" on the Desura page who complained about not actually being able to launch the game properly after buying there. Also evilmidnightlurker on the main site.

Do you have any ETA on when Desura will fix this problem? Is it possible for you to just mark my profile as a donator to do an end run around the bug?

Thanks :)

EDIT: and never mind, all done now, it's cool :)
