Weird out of depth stuff.

#1 Post by skein »

Latest run through with my thalore alchemist has had some very out of depth stuff appear. Thalores make really good alchemists(I was bored of starting in trollmire)

I had a voratun armor drop off an adventurer party (the first one I met as a level 5 alchemist). I could not use it for anything of course(it was a trash green anyway) since it had a 44 strength requirement but it just struck me as very odd. The only way it makes sense is that it was such a bad random roll low that it became high :)

Now in the old forest I found both a level 30 naga myrmidon and a level 30 elite vampire. Both just walking around and on two separate levels (1st and fourth). I am very curious how they spawned. (I was 8th level btw when I first entered to clear 1st level and 15th when I came back to clear down to the lake). Neither came from a vault or something like a graveyard.

This sort of thing happens sometimes. Ambushes (as well as a few other earlyish areas) have no maximum material level, so it's possible, but very unlikely, to get voratun stuff out of them at level 1.

As for the monsters, outside of the starter zones the RNG occasionally rolls an out-of-depth monster and plops it into wherever you're exploring. Kill it if you can - it's often possible with smart play - and run if you can't.
<Ferret> The Spellblaze was like a nuclear disaster apparently: ammo became the "real" currency.
