Setting up ToME on a mac

Setting up ToME on a mac
Does anyone know how to set ToME up on a mac? Right now it just sits in its own virtual drive or whatever, which is alright, but I really don't want to leave it there. Is there a guide somewhere about getting it set up so that it installs the necessary date in the library -> application support with the application actually in the application folder? If it doesn't exist, I'm happy enough to leave it as is, if necessary, but would love to get everything squared away where they belong.
Re: Setting up ToME on a mac
It's come to my attention that I -should- simply be able to drop the T-Engine in my applications folder and run it. So something has gone wrong on my end. To help diagnose, I'll throw in what information I can.
It says, T-Engine cannot be opened because of a problem.

Re: Setting up ToME on a mac
Having discovered that it's an error and not simply a problem with the mac, I've discovered that the problem seems to be with the finder somehow mangling it as you move it to the application folder.

They said that if you move it with the Terminal it works okay, but even after some research I don't know how to move from the mounted image to the applications folder. If that's the fix that'll do it, that'd be perfect. Otherwise I might just jump back to b40 and learn to play there. I probably won't be missing much anyway. Thanks.

Re: Setting up ToME on a mac
Are you copying it over top of an old ToME file? if so, that's likely what's mangling it. Delete the old folder before dragging the new files over, and it should work (at least it fixed it for me).
Re: Setting up ToME on a mac
Nope. I'm completely new to the game. No files anywhere. I cleaned out the application support data as well, just to be sure. I then burned my laptop with fire. It still didn't work correctly.
Re: Setting up ToME on a mac
Well, my question isn't identical to that of the OP, so forgive me if I should have instead started a new thread. I haven't played ToME yet, but would really like to. I'd like to run it natively on my Mac running 10.6. The most recent build doesn't support this OS version, and I'm not sure what I need to do. I've seen the thread titled "Compiling ToME under Mac OSX," and tried my hand at XCode, but with no luck thus far.
Wondering if someone could point me in the right direction, either with advice, instructions, or just telling me this isn't possible. If it's not, I'll play it in VirtualBox if my 2 GB of RAM supports it.
Thanks very much. Looks like a great game!
EDIT: After reading a few threads, it seems perhaps the OS X version of b42 wouldn't be fully functional even if I were to compile it properly. I'm playing b40 for now. Not sure what exactly I'm missing, but I'm having a good time so far.
