Saves seem faster in 42
Just a quick observation. Didn't see any obvious listing in the change log
Re: Saves seem faster in 42
They are faster for me too.
Re: Saves seem faster in 42
I finally fixed a "no no" (DG's words) from a while ago that I should never have done in the first place. I know this fix makes saves faster. If this is the only thing improving save performance, then I'm sorry I took so long to fix it!

Could it be possible to stop that "double saving" that happen in that sequence and get a single saving time instead :
-currently exit dungeon/exit worldmap
-the game saves
-the game load the next worldmap/dungeon
-the game saves again
(obviously withe the "Save in Background" and "Zone save" options being disabled already in the Game Options menu)

Re: Saves seem faster in 42
Hello, is there some way to disable completely any kind of auto save and let me save only when i want to do so ?
After some back and forth between some places, it starts to be very annoying to have that save (and double save when it comes to dungeon/world swapping) interrupting gameplay for longer than necessary (the necessary being only the zone loading).

Re: Saves seem faster in 42
It's not saving your game. It's saving the zones so it doesn't need to store them in active memory.
At least that's my understanding of it.
So no, there's no way to turn it off. Think of it like a loading screen.

There's a save in background option under game options. may show down your game though depending on your system.

I don't recommend using this (at least not if you play on roguelike). I lost a promising halfling corruptor because I double moved at the very wrong time recently and got one shot.electricmonk wrote:There's a save in background option under game options. may show down your game though depending on your system.

Don't even notice it on my system. No hiccups, at least not on b42. But then its a bit newer than most systems I've had before. I can get behind the careful approach though.edge2054 wrote: I don't recommend using this (at least not if you play on roguelike).
