Negative remaining stat points for golem?

All:

I just had a golem move to level 2 and I was surprised that there are -4 stat points remaining.

Don't remember ever seeing this before. Is this normal?

Check his equipment. I've seen a golem start with stralite equipment and the required stats, which put it at a considerable deficit.
