Speech synthetizing the lore automatically

#1 Post by MikkoMMM »

If I do a video series of me playing this game then I'd like it if I didn't have to read the lore aloud myself (also, I have a horrible Finnish accent). And no one has done voice acting for it yet as far as I know. So perhaps it would be best if I could rig the game to read it for me through some external software like Festival. How would I do that?

It's probably impossible without knowing how to modify the engine. You can access all of the lore through the files, though, and synthesize the speech that way.

IMO, if I'm watching someone play a game via a recording or a stream, I really don't want to hear every bit of information read out loud. I'm usually watching because I want to see the gameplay and hear the recorder's perspective on the game.
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).

I occasionally act and I might be up some doing voice acting if you want some male voices done, I'm British, but have a neutral accent (Unless you want a typical British accent in which case I can oblige) PM me if I can help in some way

(Who else has wicked imaginings of T.O.M.Es download size leaping up by a factor of 50 after a few SVN's or a multi-gig fan-audio package *grins*)
