Before an encounter I swapped cloak from the Deception cloak to something better.
I promised myself not to forget swapping back.
Alas, that is of course what I did.
Out in the wilderness I met a 'p' that was hostile and I remembered.
But when I bumped the 'p' I could not fight it.
After swapping back to the deception cloak all was well again.
What happens if one enters a town with many citizens if one is undead and wrong cloak worn?

Are they such wimps?
Re: Forgot to switch the cloak
Most of them, but Linaniil will kamikaze you into the next world.
Re: Forgot to switch the cloak
I really like this gimmick. I really do, but it does seem that you can screw up important quests this way. I've abandoned two chars because of weird things I suspect might have been cloak related. Also giving up the cloak slot seems mean to the already woefully slow Ghoul. With recently buffed skills the Ghoul are better, but still the speed thing blows chunks.

Re: Forgot to switch the cloak
Maybe redesign the cloak to get levels or extra powers, like the thing at the tail end of the old forest? Except, tie its powers to kills or damage done, so that by the time you're level 40-50 it's one of the best cloaks in the game. Could use chat dialog to tell it to get progressively better for mages, rogues, or fighters, too.
Re: Forgot to switch the cloak
I simply keep the cloak on all game - it's safer, and the cloak isn't too bad an item. If you want to gain the benefits of other cloaks then there is a risk involved, and it's up to you to play carefully.
However I do think that there should be dual icons for undead players - one without the cloak and the other shrouded by the cloak.

Re: Forgot to switch the cloak
Next beta the player's equipment is shown on screen, the cloak, contrary to all other cloaks, will display a hood on the player's head
[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD

Re: Forgot to switch the cloak
i briefly tested in derth how the cloak works :3
when you remove it, people become hostile and you cannot enter shops but when you put it on they suddenly become peaceful again... but follow you nonetheless and new people join the procession. if you get out of the town and enter it again the whole population of the town will stay peacefully in a big crowd.

Re: Forgot to switch the cloak
Ok.
I forgot to switch cloak.
I entered Last Hope and there was a citizen I tried to run through.
Which in this case meant I attacked him.
I switched cloak and he is still running after me as is the whole town.
But they just stop doing anything after coming up to me.
So now I stand with all citizens of Last Hope around me chitt chatting.
